1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the provision of dog walking and pet care services by Lead Legends Dog Walking (“we”, “us”, “our”) to you (“the client”). By booking our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Please read them carefully before using our services.

2. Services Provided

We offer dog walking and related pet care services within Swadlincote and surrounding areas. Services may include:

  • Individual or group dog walks
  • Puppy visits
  • Home visits
  • Basic feeding and welfare checks

All services are subject to availability and may be adjusted due to weather, safety concerns, or operational requirements.

3. Client Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and up‑to‑date information about your dog
  • Ensure your dog is microchipped and wearing an ID tag as required by UK law
  • Inform us of any behavioural issues, medical conditions, or special requirements
  • Provide suitable equipment (collars, harnesses, leads) in good condition
  • Ensure your dog is fully vaccinated, flea‑treated, and wormed
  • Provide safe access to your property where required

You are responsible for any damage or injury caused by your dog to property, people, or other animals.

4. Behaviour and Safety

We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue services if a dog:

  • Shows aggression or behaviour that poses a risk
  • Is unwell, injured, or unsuitable for walking
  • Is not adequately socialised for group walks (if applicable)

Safety is our priority. We may adjust walk duration, route, or format in extreme weather or unsafe conditions.

5. Keys and Home Access

Where home access is required, you agree to provide:

  • A working key or access code
  • Clear instructions for entry and security
    Keys are stored securely and labelled without personal identifiers. Keys and access data are deleted or returned when services end.

6. Cancellations and Refunds

Client Cancellations

  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged in full.
  • Regular bookings cancelled repeatedly may be reviewed or suspended.

Provider Cancellations

If we must cancel due to illness, emergencies, or unsafe conditions, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer an alternative where feasible

7. Payment Terms

  • Payment is due as agreed at the time of booking (weekly, monthly, or per session).
  • Late payments may result in suspension of services.
  • Any additional costs (e.g., emergency vet visits, replacement equipment) must be reimbursed by the client.

8. Veterinary Care and Emergencies

If your dog becomes ill or injured while in our care, we will:

  • Contact you immediately where possible
  • Seek veterinary attention if necessary
  • Act in the best interests of your dog

You are responsible for all veterinary fees incurred.

In emergencies, we may transport your dog to the nearest available vet.

9. Group Walks (if applicable)

By booking group walks, you confirm that your dog:

  • Is friendly with other dogs
  • Has no history of aggression
  • Can walk safely on a lead
    We may adjust group composition for safety and compatibility.

10. Liability

We hold appropriate insurance for dog walking and pet care services. However, we are not liable for:

  • Pre‑existing injuries or medical conditions
  • Damage caused by your dog to property or third parties
  • Loss, injury, or death resulting from unforeseeable events beyond our control
    We take all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety and wellbeing of your dog.

11. Photography and Social Media

With your consent, we may take photographs of your dog during walks for use on our website or social media.
You may withdraw consent at any time.

12. Privacy and Data Protection

We process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR.

13. Changes to Services or Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on our website and will take effect immediately unless stated otherwise

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
